DESCRIPTION:To help provide a level playing field for small businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged people or entities\, the government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses that participate in the 8(a) Business Development program. The federal government's goal is to award at least 5% of all federal contracting dollars to 8(a) certified small businesses each year.\n\n\n\nAt this workshop you will learn: \n\n1) What the benefits are to being an 8(a) certified firm\n\n2) If you qualify for the 8(a) program\n\n3) About the 8(a) application process\n\n\n\nThis workshop is definitely for you if: \n\n1) You want to take advantage of federal contracting opportunities\n\n2) You have a service or product to sell to the federal government\n\n3) Your business has two (2) years in operation\n\n\n\nThe Informational Workshops have been organized by the SBA for the community. The SBA's participation is not an endorsement of any opinion\, product or service of the organizations in attendance.\n\n\n\nSBA programs and services are provided on a nondiscriminatory basis. Reasonable arrangements for persons with disabilities will be made\, if requested at least two weeks in advance.
